God has given us the privilege of executing judgement on the people and nations.
Exodus 4:1 - 5 Moses is given powers
1) The staff in Moses’s hand turned into a snake. He ran away trembling. We are overcome with awe when we realise the power in our rod. We tremble at this.
Moses realised the power of the rod in his hand, and he ran away from it.
2) By faith grab that rod, take hold of it. After we have trembled, we need to take hold of God’s word. We need to take a firm grasp on the Word of God.
Psalm 149: 5-9 A Call to Praise God
5 Let those who are God-like be full of joy and honour. Let them sing for joy on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and in their hand a sword that cuts both ways (The Word of God). 7 Let it be used to punish the nations and the people. 8 Let their kings be tied in chains, and their rulers with ropes of iron. 9 Let the punishment that is written (in the bible) be given to them. This is an honour for all His faithful ones. Praise the Lord!
God expects us to execute the judgement written in the Word of God. When we proclaim them we release the judgement of God that are already written in the scripture. We stand in the marketplace and proclaim them. We announce the decree of God. We are the heralds. We say, ‘It is written…’
After Moses realised the power in his rod, he took hold of it. We must take hold of the Word of God.
3) After Moses grasped the rod, he went to Egypt. There he stretched it out. He exercised the authority that was in the rod.
In our situation we need to take the written Word of God and stretch it out. We need to stretch it in any situation where the authority of God is needed. The most effective way to release the authority of God into a situation is by proclaiming in faith and under the anointing of the Holy Spirit (the word must go with the breath). When the Word of God is propelled by the Spirit of God out of our mouth, it has all the authority of Almighty God in that situation.
God said, ‘You've got the rod you do it. I won’t do it for you.’
The Word of God is called the Rod in the Book of Exodus. It was God’s rod, but Moses held it and he stretched it out. He released the authority of God into the situation in Egypt. It was the rod that did the job.
When we proclaim the Word of God into the situation. It releases the authority of God into it and gets the job done.
On the people, nations, rulers and princes (principalities).
