How to Get Power to Live by That Really Works
1) Ask, Seek, Knock Persistently
2) Have a fellowship and communion with God
3) Revelation of your true self
4) Purged from your sins
5) Mindful of the power of the tongue
6) Get wisdom
7) The Power of the Holy Spirit
Say: O Lord my God bless me today with your blessed word in a glorious way. Amen.
1)Ask, Seek, Knock Persistently
Jesus said in Matthew 7: 7 – 8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
James 4:3
Ye have not, because ye ask not.
Asking incudes seeking and knocking and this is persistence.
Acts 2:42
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Daily consistent, persistent calling on the Lord brings the power of God. This keeps trouble away. Pray to keep trouble away to keep the devil away. God will block them before they show up. This only happens with daily contact with the Lord.
The key to power with God in our life and on our life is daily consistent persistent contact with God.
2) Have a fellowship and communion with God
Jeremiah 33:3
3 Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.
Call unto me includes being in the presence of the Lord. Calling on the presence of the Lord, hearing the voice of the Lord, enjoying that fellowship with the Lord. This is communion with the Lord. When your heart is talking to the Lord, you become overwhelmed e.g., with tears. This is the kind of fellowship God loves (the communion of the Holy Spirit).
Call unto me means come fellowship with me, come and let’s spend time together. Abide and stay in that communion not just visit when you want to. Stay in the presence of the Lord daily. Keep away from distraction which is a killer.
2 Kings 4:24
24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward; do not slacken the pace for me unless I tell you.”
They that wait upon the Lord, look not to the right or to the left, they stay on the Lord.
Jesus is the way out of any storm.
Psalm 50:15
15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
Raise up your hands up say: Lord, I thank you for this promise.
Prayer: Father, I thank you for these words. Lord, you said you will deliver us when trouble comes. You will deliver us from our trouble when it comes, and we do already glorify you, Lord. In advance we glorify you for the answer. Amen.
The devil is not afraid of activities. He is afraid of God. He is not afraid of machinery; he is afraid of God. Machinery or activity without prayer is activity without God. So, no result/s. The arm of God or the power of God responds only to daily prayer. In Acts 2 They continued steadfastly in prayer.
Consistent prayer, persistent prayer, daily prayer is the only way that really brings in the power of God. God’s infinite resources are at the command of the one who prays.
God’s eternal, infinite, limitless resources are ours if only we will take time to be with Jesus; to be with God. This is the key that opens the unsearchable, inexhaustible, limitless storehouse of Divine power and Grace. The storehouse of infinite power, infinite grace is there for us by just spending time with God daily.
Jesus said:
Ask and keep asking.
Seek and keep seeking.
Knock and keep knocking.
Do this and you will find the miracle you are looking for. The answer will come. You will find what you are looking for. The door will open. God will open the door so wide you will find divine treasures behind it.
There is only one limit to what prayer can do and that is what God can do. So really prayer can do anything God can do. This means God can do it all and prayer can do it all. Prayer can do anything God can do. Prayer is omnipotent if you really seek the Lord. There will be power for your life you did not even know existed.
3) Revelation of your true self
Steps to this (Isaiah 6)
God will reveal us to us. God revealed Isaiah to himself in verse 5 he says,
‘I am a man of unclean lips.'
You are broken. God will not despise a broken heart (your sin is purged) and the power of God is released on you. In verse 8 Isaiah says,
‘Send me Lord. I am going.’ And from this point the power of God follows him.
But this power begins as:
When Moses was in fellowship with the Lord, he revealed Moses to himself and Moses said, ‘lord I cannot even talk and you want to take me to Egypt but I cannot even say a word and God said, ‘Okay I will be your mouth.’. The same thing happened with Job. When God shows up in Chapter 42 Job says, ‘6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.’ It was from this point that God began to bless him. And the power of God was restored on his life so that double of the blessings came (what the enemy had stolen from him).
It is important to come to a full revelation of yourself. In Psalm 139 David said, ‘Search me O Lord and then lead me in the way of everlasting life.’
4) Purged from your sins
Outcome: daily prayer keeps you in fellowship with God and in the Kingdom of God; and staying with Christ Jesus.
When daily prayer and communion with God begins, the next thing you see is:
God will cleanse you from your sin and will give you power over your sin.
In Psalm 19:12- 14 David says:
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
From thence God holds us up so we will not fall.
In Psalm 17:5 David says, ‘5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.’
5) The Power of the Tongue
When we are in communion with the Lord our tongue is under control.
James 3:8, ‘8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.’
David says in Psalm 141: 3, ‘3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.’
When we stay in contact with Jesus our words are always holy, righteous, beautiful, and right. We don’t say anything ugly to anyone. The bible says: Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth. Prayer keeps our tongue clean. Walking with God keeps our tongue clean. No filthy talk or curses because the Holy Spirit will sanctify our tongue if we stay in God’s presence.
Only in the presence of Jesus is there fullness of joy.
Proverbs 18:21
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
There is life and death in the tongue. Staying in the presence of the Lord God will heal us from the ills that have been spoken against us. Not only will God keep the tongue from saying it, he will also keep the heart from being injured by it. Jesus will protect and heal our hearts from those things.
6) Get wisdom
God has put infinite wisdom at our disposal when we ask him. If we remain in continual fellowship with God, he will give us wisdom.
James 1 :5 says we should pray for it: 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
When we don’t pray, we make silly decisions and stumble all over the place because we haven’t really sought God.
Psalm 86:11 - 11 Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
When we walk with the Lord, God shows us his way. He gives us wisdom. He does so much more.
David says in Psalm 25:4 4 Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.’
This is all wisdom which comes by prayer.
God Opens our eyes to understand the bible. Prayer will make the bible an open book in our life.
7) The Power of the Holy Spirit
It is that continual communication and fellowship with God that will bring the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life, on our life with incredible grace that brings that power.
Jesus said in Luke 11: 13
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
8) We transformed into the image of Jesus Christ
It is the communion with God that keeps the power in our life and in that beautiful communion we are also transformed into the image of Jesus.
2 Corinthians 3
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Stay in the presence of Jesus for from there you will find power for living.

‘Send me Lord. I am going.’ And from this point the power of God follows him.
But this power begins as:
- first with a revelation of our weakness. A revelation of the fact that we cannot do it on our strength. We can only do it when we wait upon the Lord.
- When do this he reveals us to us and when he reveals us to us, we break. We become repentant because we see how weak we are, and we trust the Lord.
- And now we trust the Lord his power comes on us and he will do the impossible through us.
When Moses was in fellowship with the Lord, he revealed Moses to himself and Moses said, ‘lord I cannot even talk and you want to take me to Egypt but I cannot even say a word and God said, ‘Okay I will be your mouth.’.
