Passion of Christ | Power of the Blood of Jesus | The Victory of Calvary
The Works of Calvary Summary--->
What the Blood of Jesus has done for us.
Summary: (1) Sins Forgiven, (2) In Person of Jesus, (3) Divine Health, (4) Called onto Liberty, (5) Godly Excellence & Perfection, (6) Spiritual Authority and Power, (7) As in Heaven so on Earth, (8) Divine Protection by The Blood of Jesus.
1] We have been made into Kings (authority) and Priests (spiritual powers)
Revelation 5:9-10 (NIV)
9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”
2] We are redeemed and purified
Titus 2:14 (NIV)
who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Psalm 107:2 (NIV)
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story--
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
Reflection:
Lord, through your sacrifice on the cross, we have been redeemed out of the hand of the devil. Lord I am your inheritance. I am your possession. The devil has no authority in my life, no place in my life, he has no claim over me. You have settled all by your blood.
Lord it is written in Isaiah that I am yours.
Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)
43 But now, this is what the Lord says--
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
Declare: Because of the blood we belong to you Jesus. Now Lord do as you promised:
Jeremiah 15:21 (NIV)
21 “I will save you from the hands of the wicked
and deliver you from the grasp of the cruel.”
Reflection fact: Redemption and deliverance are twins. You will never belong to the devil. True redemption is complete liberty from the enemy. You cannot remain in bondage.
3] In death is presence of Jesus
Through the Blood we have the promise that death will never hold you or keep you. You will be in the presence of the Lord Jesus the moment your earthly body dies.
Hosea 13:14 (NIV)
14 “I will deliver this people from the power of the grave;
I will redeem them from death.
Where, O death, are your plagues?
Where, O grave, is your destruction?
“I will have no compassion,
Reflection: No one, no one, no one but the Lord Jesus has the right to have you; has the right to touch your life. No One. The enemy has no right to touch you and tell him that! The enemy has no right to have you or any part of you. No one but Jesus. No one but the Lord Jesus has the right to have you, has the right to touch you. No foreign power, no earthly power has the right to exercise authority over your life. No power. But you have to say it. This is the key. It is imperative that you know that truth. Let the redeemed say so.
4] Know the sovereignty of God and prayer.
Galatians 4:1 TPT
Let me illustrate: As long as an heir is a minor, he’s not really much different than a servant, although he’s the master over all of them.
TPT: The Passion Translation
Hosea 4:6 (NIV)
6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
“Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children.
Reflection: It is imperative that you know this truth because if you do not know it you will remain a slave. It says so in the scripture. You must know what the Lord has done for us. We have to surrender; we have to yield to the Lord to experience this liberty. If you do not know it it cannot affect your life. Not only do we need to know what he said, what he did, what he does for us but surrender to the Lord. You must know the sovereignty of God and prayer. We have to know God’s will his word before praying. It is about coming into agreement with his sovereignty, his will which is already established for our life and God will not do it until we understand what it says about us and come in agreement with that will.
Read what God has said already about you from the scripture and begin to pray that into your life. Walk in it. Come into agreement with it. God will do it. And this is the confident we have in him. If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us, and we know he has heard us when we pray his will. Jesus said, ‘Pray thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’
When you know who you are in Jesus and what the blood has done for you , you will begin to live it and not be a slave as Galatians 4:1 said. And then you surrender to that will.
It says so in: Romans 6:16 (NIV)
16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Once you know your redemption, your inheritance, something will happen to you.
5] Only sons are led by the spirit not children
Colossians 1:20 (KJV)
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Reflection: The minute you know what the blood has given you. You will walk into reconciliation. You will be reconciled and restored to the Lord. You will be free from the bondage and the slavery you’ve known. You will no longer walk as a child who does know who he is. You will walk as mature sons of God. Only sons are led by the spirit not children who do not know how to follow. They have to be led by the hand and taught how to.
Galatians 4:1 (KJV)
4 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; (because he does not know who he is.)
6] We begin to walk in the light.
Because of the blood that has redeemed us we are cleansed from all sins. We are walking in the light not darkness and bondage.
1 John 1:7 (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanse us from all sin.
Reflection: Once you know what the blood has done for you and you pray that will into your life you will be free from bondage. You will walk in purity and freedom. You will be free from the Galatians 4:1 position. Now everything is restored and the next thing is you will be free from sin because sin has no dominion over your life. If you do sin, confess, and be cleansed again. He is faithful and he is just to forgive us our sins.
Psalm 130 (KJV)
130 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Revelation 1:5-6 (NIV)
5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
7] We are sanctified made holy set apart to God
Hebrews 10:10 (KJV)
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 9:12-14 (KJV)
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Reflection: He purified, sanctified us, purged our conscience from the past. We have no past record, no past history once you are saved. A new creature means a new creature. The past does not exist and we have to live in that reality.
Hebrews 13:20-21 (KJV)
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Reflection: This act of perfection grants us access into the presence of the Lord. Access we have never had before. As we are now perfect we have access to the throne room.
8] We have the Holy Spirit as advocate and helper
Hebrews 10:19-20 (KJV)
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Reflection: It is because of the blood that the Holy Spirit is now ours. For without the cleansing, the sanctifying and the perfection that the blood gives us the Holy Ghost cannot come upon our life. But now that the door is opened there is presence and power that will fill our lives daily. And that is what Peter wrote :
1 Peter 1:2 (NIV)
2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
Reflection: Now the Holy Ghost is ours. His presence is ours. Where would we be without the Holy Spirit? Where would we be without the Holy Ghost who makes Jesus more real to us than our flesh and skin and life? Where would we be without the Holy Ghost who makes Jesus more real to us than the crowd who saw him 2,000 years ago? We have not seen him yet love him. How is that possible? By the Holy Spirit. That crowd 2,000 years ago saw him and did not love him. We have not seen him yet love him. Who gave us that power? Who gave us that reality? The Holy Spirit. How? Because of the blood.
Summary
What we are celebrating today is that sacrifice that gave us what we have today in him. And will continue to give us eternally.
We celebrate today the victory of Calvary and who we are in him; and who we have become because of him and the reality we have because of Jesus. The Holy Spirit being ours because of the blood.
9] Finally total protection
Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Exodus 12:23 (NIV)
23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.
Reflection: Because of the blood no devil can touch you ever again, no enemy can touch you ever again because of the blood you are protected. Forever protected!
We are celebrating these victories of the Calvary Cross today. This is what Good Friday is about.
